He received a lot of positive reviews for The Girl in the Spider’s Web as it was named one of the best thrillers of the year by Esquire magazine and was short-listed for the 2016 Petrona Award for Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year. He wrote the fourth novel, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, and then followed that up with The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye and The Girl Who Lived Twice. Instead of letting the series end there, Lagencrantz picked up the mantle and began writing the series. The series, written by Stieg Larsson, began with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and had three books in the series before the death of Larsson. Lagencrantz got a huge break in his career when he was selected by Norstedts publishing company to pick up writing of the Millenium series. The book ended up translated into over fifteen different languages with numerous positive reviews and sales worldwide. The book was about the death of British mathematician Alan Turing and a young detective’s investigation of it. He would go on to study philosophy and religion at university before graduating from the Gothenburg school of journalism. His sister Marika Lagencrantz is an actress and diplomat. His father was a literary scholar and his mother was a publicist so words were always a major part of his life. He was born to Olof Lagercrantz and Martina Ruin. The area may be best known to some as the home of the final matches of both the 1958 FIFA (men’s) World Cup and the 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Solna is an urban municipality that is home to many major businesses. Lagencrantz is from the town of Solna, Stockholm.
